“sticks & stones” mural from Adelaide Australia
1 American artist, 3 Australian artists, 200 foot long mural, 2 fractured bones, 1 concussion and a lot of color.
Above:” I was flown to Adelaide, Australia to paint a mural on a 63 metre (200 foot) long wall. Within just 3 days of my arrival I fell and broke my scapula in 2 parts as well as suffering from a head concussion ending up in the hospital twice. Part of my responsibilities for this mural project was to be a mentor to 3 already extremely talented local Australian artists making this project a collaborative effort and highly entertaining. As a collective we decided to comment and paint a word play to relate the adversities of this wall’s rocky surface, and fact that I literally fell broke my bones during this project. In the end it was the words that were always there to save us!”
“Please familiarize yourself with the amazingly talented crew of artists who made this project come to life.
CHRIS EDSER is an illustrator and wood-carving artist from Adelaide, Australia. Recently he has been experimenting with installing carved wooden sculpture in street-settings and has an interest in hand-illustrated typography.
TRISTAN KERR is a highly accomplished screen printer, painter, and graphic designer who lives and works in Adelaide, Australia.
Graphic designer, and public artist ANKLES currently lives in Adelaide, Australia. ANKLES has participated in many creative projects around Australia.
JOSHUA FANNING is the director of a small, low-brow art gallery in Adelaide’s seedy end of town called MAGAZINE GALLERY. Josh’s Gallery exists to keep artists from exhibiting in restaurants and he thought that bringing ABOVE to Adelaide, Australia would be a progressing move for his city of Adelaide and the residents that live there. He’s glad to have been proven correct and looks forward to future projects like this in Adelaide and international artists.

0331c – bird houses
0331c: “In 2008 I wanted to make bird houses in the shape of symbols, but I hadn’t had money then to embody my idea. And finally in 2011 thanks to one festival financial support (organized in favor of Moscow parks cleanness) I managed to carry out my project.
The target of the project is to combine an interesting outlook of the birds’ houses with their practical application. In other words I wanted the birds to like it and to settle there.
All the birds’ houses are made according to the rules. I also painted it in the colours which would suit the birds. I used water basic paint.

Gred.”

TAPS & MOSES book
The book pitch:
Between 2008 & 2010 Taps & Moses painted about 1000 rolling trains within 1000 days!
A question that is always asked in graffiti-writer interviews is : which is better quality or quantity ?
Taps and Moses have clearly chosen both.
The book is very heavy : 1800g and it features on 288 pages (30x22cm) more than 800 photos.
When I check book about street-art & graffiti I must admit that I usually already know most of the photos & artists.
It was a completely different experience with this book where 99% of the photos were new to me.
The 2 german guys paint classic graffiti pieces, but also some very original and smart pieces.
You certainly saw on the net their brilliant red subway car that has one of its doors painted to another spot.
They also excel in the art of painting wholecars.
Who are Taps & Moses ?
It is said that they are two already well-known names in the train scene. It’s easy to believe, two unexperienced writers couldn’t achieve such a colossal mission.
But at the same time, to paint such a number of pieces seems so insane, that we can also think that they have been helped by friends sometimes.
It is clear that this book will be an instant classic to all train graffiti lovers. I knew many train-writers in the early nineties and for many of them, the goal to achieve was to paint 100 panels and a one-man wholecar. Taps & Moses obviously play in a different league, a category they created the International Topsprayer.
